Brutus is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States.

The town is located in the eastern part of the county and is west of Syracuse.

On August 14, 2021, a bus headed to Niagara Falls crashed just west of exit 40 (Thruway), injuring at least 57 people.

The New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) passes along the northern part of the town, with access from Exit 40 (Weedsport).

22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
