Carlos del Rio

Del Rio received his medical degree from Universidad La Salle in his native Mexico in 1983.

He then completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Emory University.

[5] He served as chief of the Emory Medical Service at Grady Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2009.

[11] Nationally, del Rio advised college athletic programs as a member of the NCAA COVID-19 Advisory Panel.

[12][13][14] He also serves on the national advisory committee of the COVID Collaborative, which focuses on developing consensus recommendations and engaging with U.S. leaders on effective policy and coronavirus response.
