He played college football at Auburn and was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft.

At the conclusion of the pre-draft process, Davis was projected to a second round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts.

[17] In Week 2, during a 27–21 win against the Philadelphia Eagles, Davis recorded six tackles, a pass deflection, and his first career fumble recovery via a strip-sack by teammate Kwon Alexander on Nick Foles.

When informed it meant an offensive term for Asian people, he proceeded to cite a section of the Urban Dictionary which states its use as also meaning lame in South Florida slang.
