Castle of Castellano

The Castle of Castellano (Italian: Castello di Castellano, German: Schloss Kastellein) is a manor house in the village of Castellano,[1] in the municipality of Villa Lagarina, in Trentino, northern Italy.

[2] It is one of the most famous castles of Vallagarina, offering a panorama of the entire valley, and was used to protect roads leading to Lago di Cei.

[1] In World War I, it was transformed into an Austrian-Hungarian fortress.

[citation needed] The castle is currently owned by the Miorandi family, and hosts Castelfolk, an annual summertime musical and culinary festival.

[1] It once housed frescoes,[2] now preserved in the Rovereto's civic museum.
