Catherine Arnott

[1] She worked as a hospital medical officer in both England and India and later became an expert on the treatment of tuberculosis.

Arnott was born in 1858 at Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, British India, where her father was a surgeon.

[1] In 1894, she was appointed assistant Medical Officer at the Lancaster County Lunatic Asylum, Lancashire.

[2] Later in her career, she returned to England and worked treating infectious diseases in London[6] and as a doctor in Coventry.

[1] In 1913, she served as the Press and Honorary Secretary of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU)'s branch in Coventry.
