Cecil Sharp Project

Overall management of the project was the responsibility of Shrewsbury Folk Festival and was directed by Neil Pearson and Alan Surtees.

The residential[clarification needed] took place in March 2011, immediately followed by concerts in Shrewsbury and London.

The artists also performed the results of the project at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival in August 2011.

The eight musicians selected for the project were Andy Cutting, Caroline Herring, Steve Knightley, Jim Moray, Jackie Oates, Leonard Podolak of The Duhks, Scottish fiddler Patsy Reid, and Kathryn Roberts.
