The species was discovered in 2021 by a group of students from the Bogor Agricultural Institute during a citizen science event.
Specimens observed during the day were pale yellow to light brown in color on the dorsum.
[4] The frog is currently known solely from the type locality, Leuweung Sancang Nature Reserve.
[1] Male frogs were observed perched on plants about 50 cm over the water of a pond.
[4] Scientists named this frog for the Indonesian words for "coast" and "south": "Pantai" and "selatan."
