Colonie is a village in Albany County, New York, United States.
The village of Colonie was incorporated on March 2, 1921, and was barely developed beyond anything more than buildings along the Albany-Schenectady Road (NY Route 5).
At the 2000 census, there were 7,916 people, 3,174 households, and 2,253 families living in the village.
The racial makeup of the village was 91.68% White, 3.54% Black or African American, 0.09% Native American, 3.08% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races.
