Cyperus zollingeri, commonly known as roadside flatsedge,[1] is a sedge of the family Cyperaceae that is native to tropical areas of Australia,[2] Africa and Asia.
[3] The annual herb or grass-like sedge typically grows to a height of 0.1 to 0.4 metres (0.33 to 1.31 ft) and has a tufted habit.
In 1854 the botanist Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel classified it by the current name in the work Synopsis Plantarum Glumacearum.
[2] It is also found across the top end of the Northern Territory and both Cape York Peninsula and north east Queensland.
[3] The species is also native in parts of Africa including the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya; Madagascar; Mali, Senegal and Tanzania.
