Dachstein Chapel

It lies at a height of 2,206 metres (7,238 ft) and is the highest place of worship in the Northern Limestone Alps.

It belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Linz and is a cultural heritage monument.

In 1925 a memorial plaque to the Bishop of Linz, Rudolph Hittmair, was unveiled in the chapel.

The restoration has been paid by the federal state of Upper Austria, the Diocese of Linz, the National Monuments Office, the Roman Catholic parish of Hallstatt and private donors.
