David Payne Brewster (June 15, 1801 – February 20, 1876) was an American lawyer and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from New York from 1839 to 1843.
In 1825, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Oswego, New York.
He was also an associate judge of the court of Common Pleas from 1833 to 1841.
Returning to the practice of law, he also engaged in agricultural pursuits.
Brewster served as member of the excise board commission and became its president in 1870, and held the office for three years.
