[8] As a freshman at the University of Washington in 2015–16, Murray was named second-team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team[9] after averaging 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 33.5 minutes while starting all 34 games.

[56] On January 31, 2025, Murray sustained a non-contact leg injury in the first quarter against the defending champion Boston Celtics and was helped to the locker room before it would be revealed to be a torn right Achilles tendon, putting an abrupt end to his season.
