He played college football for the Auburn Tigers where he was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, and was selected by the Panthers in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft.

[15] Brown suffered a meniscus injury in Week 1 of the 2024 season and was placed on injured reserve on September 10, 2024.
