Die Neue Sammlung

Founded in 1907 with the ideas of the German Werkbund, Die Neue Sammlung became an official state museum in 1925.

Since then, Die Neue Sammlung has been making design history with its international acquisitions and stimulating exhibitions.

With over 100,000 catalogued items, Die Neue Sammlung is among the world’s largest design collections.

Ceramics and glass are focal areas, as are Jewellery and Appliances, not to mention selected objects in the field of crafted design.

From the very beginning it distinguished itself from the museums of arts and crafts of the day by committing firmly to espousing the Modernism of the times and thus contemporary design.
