The racial makeup of the township was 96.04% White, 0.71% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.71% from other races, and 2.40% from two or more races.

39.10% of all households were made up of individuals, and 27.20% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
