Eulalia aurea is a grass (in the Poaceae family).
[1] It was first described as Andropogon aureum[1] in 1804 by Bory de Saint-Vincent[4] but was transferred to the genus, Eulalia, in 1830 by Kunth.
[1][2] The Walmajarri people of the southern Kimberley call it "Water grass" and Jirtapuru.
[5] It is found in southern Africa, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, and Australia.
[3] Within Australia, it is found in all mainland states and territories.
