The club was founded in 2009 as CSM Slatina, quickly obtaining two consecutive promotions to reach the Liga II in 2011.

In February 2018, the club was refounded and enrolled directly in the Liga V, where it played 15 matches from the remainder of that season.

[9][10] The club's future was secured in July when private investors from Olt County pledged to support CSM financially.
