About 12.7% of families and 22.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 30.4% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those sixty five or over.

Fancy Gap is a band from Raleigh, North Carolina consisting of members Stuart Mclamb and Charles Crossingham.

They recorded their debut album in Fancy Gap, Virginia and named their band after the small mountain town.
