Fehren is a municipality in the district of Thierstein in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.
[3] Fehren has an area, as of 2009[update], of 1.48 square kilometers (0.57 sq mi).
Of the rest of the land, 0.23 km2 (0.089 sq mi) or 15.5% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.7% is either rivers or lakes.
[4] The municipality is located in the Thierstein district, on the eastern slope above the Breitenbach valley.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Or a House Argent roofed Gules between two Pine Trees Vert issuant from as many Mounts of the same.
[8] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (491 or 96.5%), with French being second most common (9 or 1.8%) and Turkish being third (4 or 0.8%).
[7] The age distribution, as of 2000[update], in Fehren is; 43 children or 8.4% of the population are between 0 and 6 years old and 67 teenagers or 13.2% are between 7 and 19.
The greatest number of single family homes (28) were built between 1971 and 1980.

In the federal election, a total of 198 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 44.5%.
[8] There were 278 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 37.4% of the workforce.
The number of jobs in the primary sector was 12, of which 9 were in agriculture and 3 were in forestry or lumber production.
In the tertiary sector; 3 or 7.9% were in wholesale or retail sales or the repair of motor vehicles, 2 or 5.3% were in a hotel or restaurant, 2 or 5.3% were technical professionals or scientists, 4 or 10.5% were in education.
[8] From the 2000 census[update], 395 or 77.6% were Roman Catholic, while 59 or 11.6% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.
The education system in the Canton of Solothurn allows young children to attend two years of non-obligatory Kindergarten.
All the lower secondary students from Fehren attend their school in a neighboring municipality.
