West Traverse Township is a civil township of Emmet County in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The population was 1,768 at the 2020 census.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 13.39 square miles (34.7 km2), of which 13.37 square miles (34.6 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.052 km2) (0.15%) is water.

The city of Harbor Springs is located south of the township.
