The racial makeup of the township was 96.50% White, 0.12% African American, 1.85% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.12% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races.

There were 978 households, out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.6% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% were non-families.

22.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
