The unincorporated communities of Fulton and Indianford are located in the town.

The unincorporated community of Newville is also located partially in the town.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 3,158 people, 1,229 households, and 920 families residing in the town.

19.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
