Gaindakot Municipality

Gaindakot (Nepali: गैँडाकोट, pronounced [ˈɡʌ̃ĩ̯ɽakoʈ]; sometimes spelled Gaidakot) is a municipality in Nawalpur District in the Gandaki Zone of southern Nepal.

It became a municipality in May 2014 by merging the existing Mukundapur, Amarapuri, and Gaindakot VDCs.

It is situated on the shore of Narayani River near the Maula Kalika Temple.

[citation needed] Vijaya Community Information & Communication Cooperative Ltd. (VICCOL) was established in 2000 in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi.

[citation needed] The large Bhrikuti Paper and Pulp factory shut down in 2011 for financial reasons.
