Grace Church Cathedral, located in Charleston, South Carolina, is the diocesan cathedral of the Episcopal Church in South Carolina.
[2] The parish was founded as the city's fifth Episcopal Church congregation in 1846.
The church remained open during the American Civil War until it was hit by a shell in January 1864.
Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury, presented the newly designated cathedral with a Canterbury cross at a special service in April 2016.
Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry was also present.
