Grammicolepis is a monotypic genus of tinselfish, family Grammicolepididae.
[2] The only species is Grammicolepis brachiusculus, the thorny tinselfish[3][4] or deepscale dory.
[4] Records from northwest Europe include one specimen caught off Scotland in 2004 and one off County Kerry, Ireland in 2010.
[5] This species grows to a length of 64 centimetres (25 in) TL.
[3][4] It is a silvery fish with a highly compressed deep body that is covered in vertically-elongated scales.
