Black Lake occupies the southeastern corner of the township.

There were 817 housing units at an average density of 16.8 per square mile (6.5/km2).

There were 428 households, out of which 18.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families.

26.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
