As a CDP, it was used for statistical purposes and does not have any legal status as a municipality.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,631 people, 633 households, and 450 families residing in the CDP.

There were 658 housing units at an average density of 98.9 per square mile (38.2/km2).

The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.38% White, 0.86% Black or African American, 0.06% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.43% from other races, and 1.90% from two or more races.

22.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
