The wind farm consists of 3 sites with a capacity of around 700 MW each.
[1] it is the third offshore wind farm in the Netherlands after the Hollandse Kust Zuid and Hollandse Kust Noord wind farms to be built without subsidies .
The tender for this site was won by Ecowende, a consortion of Shell and Eneco.
[3] The tender for the second site was won by Oranje Wind Power II, a subsidiary of RWE.
[4] In July 2024, it was announced that TotalEnergies would acquire a 50% stake in the OranjeWind project from RWE.
