Hypostomus heraldoi

Hypostomus heraldoi is a species of catfish in the family Loricariidae.

It is typically found in turbid waters with a substrate composed of rocks with some amount of sand.

The species reaches 23.6 cm (9.3 inches) in standard length and is believed to be a facultative air-breather.

[1] Hypostomus heraldoi was described in 2008 by Cláudio H. Zawadzki (of the State University of Maringá), Claude Weber, and C. S. Pavanelli (also of the State University of Maringá), alongside the aforementioned related and syntopic species H.

[2] The fish is named in honor of Brazilian ichthyologist Heraldo A. Britski, of the Universidade de São Paulo.
