Idiacanthus antrostomus, also known as the Pacific blackdragon or black sea dragon,[3] is a species of barbeled dragonfishes noted for having ultrablack skin, similar to pigments like Vantablack.
The fish has tightly packed melanosomes allowing its skin to absorb 99.95% of light of wavelengths common in its habitat.
[4][5] It has been found at depths between 500 m (1,600 ft) and 2,000 m (6,600 ft)[6] along the West Coast of the United States and in the Gulf of Mexico.
