International School of Luxembourg

[1] As part of a deal with the Luxembourg government to open Europe's first polyester film plant in the country the American conglomerate DuPont requested that its employees have access to an American-style education for their children.

[1] Classes were first located in the dining room of a private home in Strassen, before moving, in early 1963, to a single classroom at a primary school in Cessange.

The same year it was taken over by international firm Goodyear and renamed the English Speaking School of Luxembourg.

[1] In 1999, the school settled into its current purpose built location in Hollerich on the Campus Geesseknäppchen, which hosts several other Luxembourg-based educational establishments.

[3] The lower school consists of an Early Years Programme serving children aged 3–7, which includes the Preschool, Kindergarten and Grade 1, whilst the rest of the lower school programme serves ages 7–11 in Grades 2-5.
