The company expanded into a multi-branded fashion-retailing group in December 2002 with the acquisition of William Baird PLC[1] which added three further womenswear labels – Planet, Precis Petite and Windsmoor.
In its present form the company actively trades with the brands Jacques Vert, Précis, Dash and Eastex.
The company was listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange until 2010, when it was acquired by Sun Capital Partners.
Support operations, including warehousing, are located in Bowburn and Seaham in the north east of England.
On 3 May 2018 it was stated that 1000 jobs could be at risk in the Jacques Vert chain as Calvetron Brands Limited prepare to call in administrators in the UK.
