He received a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in 2000 from the University of Chicago, where he was selected as a student marshal and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

His practice covered a wide range of civil matters, including energy, wage-and-hour, patent, information-technology, real estate, and employment litigation.
