Jatoe Kaleo

Jatoe Kaleo (1928–1998) was a Ghanaian traditional ruler, politician and founding member of the Northern Peoples Party.

He was educated at the Native Authority Primary Boarding School, at Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana from 1935 to 1941.

He was appointed the Head Teacher of Naro Primary School in 1953 but in 1954 he resigned from the Teaching service and entered politics.

In 1969 he was elected member of parliament for Nadawli constituency[7][8][9] and also appointed Minister of Labour Social Welfare and Co-operatives until 1971.

After General I. K. Acheampong's coup d'état on 13 January 1972 he went back to Kaleo village, where he was a chief, as well as an opinion leader.
