John Francis Lhotka Jr (1921–1993) was an American medical doctor who was a professor of anatomical sciences at the University of Oklahoma.
[1][2][3] Lhotka earned his BA in anatomy at the University of Montana, and his MS in anatomy, Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy in Sciences at Northwestern University, and was licensed to practise medicine in Oklahoma, Illinois and Montana.
He worked at the Minneapolis General Hospital (1950–51), then taught at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he was professor, and subsequently professor emeritus.
He published scientific papers on histochemistry, many of which were supported by national grants.
For his military service in World War II, Lhotka received the following recognition: Lhotka was a member of Sigma Xi and Phi Sigma, and a member and supporter of over 30 learned societies, including the Petroleum Club.
