Johnson, Vermont

Johnson is a town in Lamoille County, Vermont, United States.

The village of Johnson is in the center of the town, where the Gihon River joins the Lamoille from the northeast.

[3] The town is named for the American jurist, statesman and educator William Samuel Johnson.

Declaration of Independence, Vermont's Council of Censors granted the town to Johnson in 1785.

There were 1,170 households, out of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.4% were couples living together and joined in either marriage or civil union, 10.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.8% were non-families.

28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
