In late January 2017, Rahm won the Farmers Insurance Open with a 60-foot eagle putt on the final hole to notch his maiden PGA Tour title.

Rahm's surname originates from a Swiss ancestor who moved to Spain in the 1780s;[79] his father is a Biscayan, Basque, while his mother is from Madrid.
