Summer Heat (2006 film)

Grace, the youngest daughter, marries the mama's boy Conrad, and has to face the reality of leaving the ancestral house, to which she is deeply rooted, to go and live with her in-laws.

A year later, Mang Rudy succumbs to a second attack and when he dies several months later, Rowena sets foot on the ancestral house once more to pay her last respects.

Attached to each segment are social occasion popularly observed in the province of Pampanga in the Philippines, with a symbolic motif for each, represented by the elements sun, fire, water, air, blood, moon and earth.

Won 2007 Durban International Film Festival's Best Actress (Cherry Pie Picache) It was Nominated in 2007 FAMAS Awards for Best Actor (Johnny Delgado), Best Actress (Cherry Pie Picache), Best Art Direction (Benjamin Padero), Best Cinematography (Odyssey Flores), Best Cinematography (Odyssey Flores), Best Director (Brillante Mendoza), Best Editing (Mark Philipp Espina), Best Picture, Best Story (Brillante Mendoza and Boots Agbayani Pastor) and Best Supporting Actor (Allan Paule).

In the 2007 Jeonju International Film Festival held in Korea it won the critic's prize for the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) which was received by director Brillante Mendoza.
