Kalmakanda (Bengali: কলমাকান্দা), originally Karamakhanda, is an upazila of Netrokona District[3] in the Division of Mymensingh, Bangladesh.
According to the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Kalmakanda Upazila had 58,069 households and a population of 271,912.
Kalmakanda has a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 36.58%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 1016 females per 1000 males.
[7] Kalmakanda Thana was formed in 1941 and it was turned into an upazila in 1983.
