Bochumer Hut

The Bochumer Hut (German: Bochumer Hütte, 1,432 m above sea level (AA)), also called Kelchalm or Kelchalpe, is an Alpine club hut in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol.

Today the hut is a popular destination for hikers and also has overnight accommodation.

In 1939 the hut was purchased by the German Alpine Club section in Magdeburg.

[1] At the end of the 19th century traces of a Bronze Age copper mine were found by the prehistorian, Matthäus Much, in the area of the Kelchalpe.

During subsequent excavations from the 1930s to 1950s further discoveries were made that are displayed in Kitzbühel's town museum.
