Kimitsu

Kimitsu (君津市, Kimitsu-shi) is a city located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

Kururi is the top producer in Japan of kallos (wetland plants) using the spring water.

In the late 1960s, about 20,000 people from Kyushu moved to the area when the Yahata Steel factory opened.

Chiba Prefecture Kimitsu has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) characterized by warm summers and cool winters with light to no snowfall.

The village of Susaki and Yaehara were created with the establishment of the modern municipalities system on April 1, 1889.

Because of this, there were issues like moving houses, buying farmland, and distributing food and clothes for workers.

Kimitsu has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral city council of 22 members.

In terms of national politics, the city is part of Chiba 12th district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.

Kimitsu Works was established in 1965, covers 11,720,000 square metres (126,200,000 sq ft), and employed 3,280 people as of 2007[update].
