He earned a certificate in Project Planning and Management at GIMPA, and an MBA at the University of Ghana, Legon.

[13] He served as member of parliament for Asante-Akim North Constituency succeeding the former Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, the late Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu for one term between 2009 and 2013.

In the 2012 parliamentary elections, he then moved to the Asante Akim Central to stand as a member of parliament which he won.

He stood to be re-elected into the next parliament in the 2016 elections for the Asante Akim Central in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

[19][20] He served as chairperson for the Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises Committee of the 7th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
