The surficial geology in the area mainly consists of Wisconsinan Till, bedrock, peat bogs, and wetlands.

After several tenths of a mile, it enters Moscow and reaches its confluence with Van Brunt Creek.

The trail would run past Langan Creek and the Moffat Estate and have a length of 1.5 to 2 miles (2.4 to 3.2 km).
