Lewis Render Morgan

Born in LaGrange, Georgia, Morgan attended University of Michigan at Ann Arbor 1930 to 1932 and received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1935.

He served in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II, from 1942 to 1943 and became a corporal.

He was executive secretary to United States Representative A. Sidney Camp from 1939 to 1942.

[1] Morgan was nominated by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 17, 1968, to a seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit vacated by Judge Elbert Tuttle.

He was reassigned by operation of law to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on October 1, 1981.
