As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 1,476 people, 556 households, and 429 families residing in the township.
18.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.9% had someone living alone who was sixty-five years of age or older.
In the township the population was spread out, with 25.0% under the age of eighteen, 5.6% from eighteen to twenty-four, 30.4% from twenty-five to forty-four, 27.8% from forty-five to sixty-four, and 11.2% who were sixty-five years of age or older.
