Mayberry Township is the only municipality in Montour County on the east side of the North Branch of the Susquehanna River and there is no direct access to the remainder of the county.
As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 244 people, 97 households, and 73 families residing in the township.
18.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.2% had someone living alone who was sixty-five years of age or older.
In the township the population was spread out, with 20.9% under the age of eighteen, 5.7% from eighteen to twenty-four, 36.9% from twenty-five to forty-four, 25.0% from forty-five to sixty-four, and 11.5% who were sixty-five years of age or older.
Roughly 2.8% of families and 4.1% of the population were living below the poverty line, including 17.2% of those under the age of eighteen.
