It has primarily served as the home field of the Chicago Bears professional football club for over four decades, but it also hosted numerous other events in its more than 90 years of existence.
Numerous celebrities were in attendance for the World Cup matches at Soldier, including Plácido Domingo during the match on June 21,[1] as well as such dignitaries as US President Bill Clinton, German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and Bolivian President Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada at the opening match.
