Märt Raud (engineer)

In 1906, Märt Raud began his studies at the Riga Polytechnical Institute, which he graduated in 1912 as a civil engineer.

[1] Prior to the outbreak of World War I, Märt Raud was the head of the Land Improvement Bureau of the North Livonian Farmers' Society in Tartu.

After the War of Independence, he served as head of the committee for returning assets which were transferred to Russia before the German occupation.

[1] During the first year of the Soviet occupation, he was let to lead the nationalized oil shale industry, but in 1941 he was moved in a lower position of senior engineer.

[1] In 1949, Märt Raud was deported to the settlement of the Balahtshin gold mine in the Shirinski district of Krasnoyarsk.
