Cato is a town in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States.
A post office called Cato was established in 1870, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1998.
[3] The town was named after Cato, New York, the former hometown of an early settler.
Cato is bisected north to south by U.S. Route 10, the main road in and out of the town.
The Manitowoc River runs its course about two and a half miles south of Cato.
