Maplewood is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States.

It stretches along the northern and eastern borders of Saint Paul.

The city is also home to the Maplewood Mall and St. John's Hospital.

The origin of the Maplewood name is unclear, when organized the area was largely prairie and oak savanna.

"There are no maple trees in Maplewood" according to the director of the local historical society.
